RACE FORMAT & RULES
Racing for hardware

Medals will be awarded to the first three places, age and category.
The first three places will be determined by the skier\snowboarder’s combined fastest time from each race.
All racers will declare a racing age and category prior to the start of their first run.
Medals will be given out in the following divisions, Women, skiing and snowboarding, Men, skiing and snowboarding
Age groups and Categories, Birth-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60+, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert
2024 Kenneth Walton & Gene Gilliam Memorial Fastest Racer

Awarded to the the racer who skis or boards the fastest time overall. Fastest time will be determined by the skier\snowboarder’s fastest time. Racing category, age and sex are for naught, you are racing against everyone.
Race #1
Race #1 is a modified giant slalom, the fastest time of the two runs will be used for medal placing.
All racers will declare a racing age and category prior to start time of first run.
Start times will be first come first serve.
One run must be made to qualify for a medal.
There is no age handicap.
A racer improving their second run time by five seconds or more will be moved up in category.
Race #2
Race #2 is also a modified giant slalom, the fastest time of the two runs will be used for medal placing.
All racers will declare a racing age and category prior to start time of first run.
Start times will be first come first serve.
One run must be made to qualify for a medal.
There is no age handicap.
A racer improving their second run time by five seconds or more will be moved up in category.
So there is no confusion, medals will be awarded by age and category to the first three places having the fastest time from one run in each race.
